The average import price of shrimp – when averaging together all origins， specifications and sizes – was $8.57 per kilogram in 2013， and that rose to $12.41 per kilogram in 2014 – an increase of 44%. On average， prices in Ecuador increased six percentage points less， at 38%， from an average price of $7.22/kg last year to $10/kg this year; while prices in Thailand increased nine percentage points more， at 53%. The average price in Indonesia increased about the same amount as Thailand – 53.7% — rising from $9.18/kg in 2013 to $14.11/kg in 2014. Vietnam was the only major producer in Asia to increase at a rate below the average， having increased prices 37%， from $10.50/kg last year to $14.47/kg this year.
